Turnkey supply of electrical and automation system for all stages of the production process
Righi designed and realised a complete automation system for the new copper rod production plant located in Avellino (Italy). The project included electrical, instrumentation and software engineering, supply of switchboards, plant wiring, commissioning and development of the entire supervision system. The automation covers all stages of the production process – from casting to casting, from rolling to winding – through a high-performance distributed architecture designed to provide centralised, intuitive and highly reliable control via a single operator interface.
Challenge
The objective was to design and realise a highly efficient and fully automated plant for the continuous production of copper wire rod. The complexity lay in the synchronised management of several critical sections, ensuring precision, safety and scalability. It was also essential to set up the system for the acquisition and analysis of process data to support traceability and continuous improvement.

- Distributed architecture in Profinet and Profibus network with 18 ET200M peripherals
- Integration of 8 HMI operator panels and 4 supervisor systems on Siemens WinCC platform
- Advanced control over more than 3400 physical I/O points, with complete management of all plant areas
- Centralised supervision and real-time data collection for performance and productivity analysis
- Technical assistance and remote support to ensure business continuity and post-start-up monitoring
