Complete revamping of line machines with customised automation
Technology upgrade and advanced automation for existing process machinery, with integrated technical support and interface to the factory
Righi realised a revamping intervention on a heterogeneous set of line machines within an industrial plant active in the European market. The project included the replacement of obsolete electrical equipment, hardware and software re-engineering of control systems, implementation of dedicated software for the specific management of individual machines and integration with the factory data infrastructure. The activities were concluded with the commissioning of the lines and production support both on-site and remotely, ensuring operational continuity and technology transition without critical impacts on productivity.
Challenge
The revamping involved machines of different types – roller ways, ladle drives, shears, straighteners, binders, slitters, and smoke and water treatment plants – each with specific operational and plant constraints related to the existing configuration. The main challenge was to develop an automation system capable of integrating seamlessly with the existing hardware where maintained, while ensuring reliable and up-to-date control, in line with modern requirements for supervision, traceability and communication with factory systems.
