Complete revamping of line machines with customised automation
Technology upgrade and advanced automation for existing process machinery, with integrated technical support and interface to the factory

Challenge
The revamping involved machines of different types – roller ways, ladle drives, shears, straighteners, binders, slitters, and smoke and water treatment plants – each with specific operational and plant constraints related to the existing configuration. The main challenge was to develop an automation system capable of integrating seamlessly with the existing hardware where maintained, while ensuring reliable and up-to-date control, in line with modern requirements for supervision, traceability and communication with factory systems.
Results/benefits achieved by the customer
- Customised design based on a consultancy approach, with targeted selection of components suited to the application context and geographical area of installation
- Renewed hardware and software engineering to optimise machine operation and ensure reliability over time
- Dedicated software for fine control of specific functions (handling, cutting, mechanical adjustments, treatment)
- Continuous technical assistance, both during commissioning and in the production phase, including remote connection for timely intervention
- Native integration with the plant’s information and management systems, enabling Industry 4.0 functionalities and promoting overall operational efficiency
