Power and continuity: new MV-LV cabin to support glass melting
A high-performance electrical infrastructure designed to ensure the continuous and safe supply of energy-intensive industrial processes, in full compliance with regulations and with native integration of Industry 4.0 technologies.

Challenge
The existing medium-voltage network had structural criticalities, with cables not sized for the new loads and configurations inadequate for current energy needs. The intervention required careful planning to avoid disruptions to production, while ensuring full compatibility between the new equipment and the existing infrastructure. All in compliance with CEI regulations and with the integration of an intelligent system for monitoring and remote control of the plant.
Results/benefits achieved by the customer
- Increased power and stability thanks to new MV lines and a 1600 kVA transformer;
- Advanced safety with integrated protections against contacts, overvoltage and overcurrents, compliant with IEC 0-16 and 64-8 standards;
- Digital infrastructure with smart devices, Modbus TCP communication, energy server and environmental sensors;
- Operational continuity ensured by a ring network and targeted work planning;
- Maintainability and standardisation with modular components, 4b form switchboards and solutions already used on other plants.
